or Tyrosine or 4- hydroxyphenylalanine is a non-essential amino acid with polar
side group. [C9H11NO3]
· Our body produce it or makes it from
Phenylalanine.
· Tyrosine helps to make some
neurotransmitter and hormone:

Dopamine: It is for pleasure, memory and motor skills.

Adrenaline/ nor adrenaline: It is for fight and flight response.
[3] Thyroid:
It is for regulating of metabolism.
[4] Melanin:
It gives colour to skin, hair, and eyes.
· Tyrosine is precursor to
neurotransmitter and improve cognitive and physical performance.
· Studies show that Tyrosine can help
to maintain mental capacity when taken before a stressful activity. There is no
evidence to improve memory.
· PKU is a serious condition that may
cause of Tyrosine deficiency.
· Tyrosine can be converted into
neurotransmitter that affect mood but no role in depression.
· Tyrosine is better than N-acetyl
L-tyrosine [NALT].
· It is needed to synthesize COQ10.
· Anti-stress effect dose is 45-68
mg/pound OR 100-150 mg/kg/day, its bioavailability is up to 8 hours and as a
pre workout one can use it before 30 -60 min of workout as 1 gm. dose.
